Lopez, Ruth

Soy la maestra Ruth López, nacida en Puerto Rico. Me mudé a Texas en 2006. Mi esposo, Domingo Cruz, es ingeniero eléctrico y puertorriqueño; mi hijo Ian estudia leyes y mi hija Bernice hace “homeschooling” por su entrenamiento competitivo en gimnasia.

Actualmente inicio mi año 27 como docente. Es mi cuarto año en Brinker Elementary. Antes trabajé en Meadows Elementary (cuatro años), en Dallas ISD (doce años) y siete años en Puerto Rico. He enseñado todos los grados del 1.º al 8.º, principalmente en clases bilingües de 4.º y 5.º grado. Disfruto mucho trabajar con los estudiantes grandes.

I am teacher Ruth López, born in Puerto Rico. I moved to Texas in 2006. My husband, Domingo Cruz, is an electrical engineer and also a Puerto Rican; my son, Ian, is studying law, and my daughter, Bernice, homeschools due to her competitive gymnastics training.

I am starting my 27th year as a teacher. This is my fourth year at Brinker Elementary. Previously, I worked at Meadows Elementary for four years, in Dallas ISD for twelve years, and for seven years in Puerto Rico. I have taught all grades from 1st to 8th, mainly in bilingual 4th and 5th grade classes. I enjoy working with older students.
