Learning Through Music

Plano ISD's elementary music program is based on the Kodály Method, an approach that helps children develop musical understanding through singing, movement, games and active participation. Students build music literacy step by step while developing listening, creativity and performance skills in an engaging, hands-on environment.

What Students Learn in Music Class

Students sing, move and perform throughout the year.
Lessons include rhythm, melody, music reading and creative expression.
Students learn through games, movement and age-appropriate activities.
Families may be invited to performances or musical programs during the school year.
